George E. Groleau, M.D.

General Dermatology

Dr. Groleau is an honor graduate of the University of Maryland Pharmacy School. He received his medical education at the University of Maryland, graduating magna cum laude in 1982. While there, he was elected to the honor scholarship fraternity, Alpha Omega Alpha. He then served a medical internship and a three-year dermatology residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, completing it in June 1986. He then joined Dermatology Physicians, Inc. Dr. Groleau is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Patricia Groleau, M.D.

General Dermatology

Dr. Groleau is a Schreyer Honors College graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, graduating magna cum laude in 2012. In medical school she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received the Eugene Sydney Bereston Award for Excellence in Dermatology. Dr. Groleau completed her medical internship at Mercy Medical Center and a three-year dermatology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, where she served as chief resident in her final year. She is a fellow at the American Academy of Dermatology. Her main clinical interests include the evaluation and management of melanoma/non-melanoma skin cancers and cosmetic dermatology.

Nikhil Shyam, M.D.

General Dermatology

Nikhil Shyam, MD is a nationally recognized and board-certified member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Shyam received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, where he majored in nutritional sciences. He is an Alpha Omega Alpha honor graduate from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his internship at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He completed his residency in dermatology at Johns Hopkins University. With over 12 years of rigorous training at some of the world’s most prestigious universities, Dr. Shyam seeks to provide his patients with the highest quality and most compassionate care utilizing the latest in medical research and practice techniques.

S. Teri McGillis, M.D

Mohs Surgeon

Dr. McGillis graduated from The University of California at Davis Medical School. Her internship was in San Francisco and residency at U.C. Davis. She was selected to complete a post-graduate fellowship in dermatologic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic where she concentrated on cosmetics, laser therapies and treatment of skin cancer. She remained on staff for almost 20 years. She is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained MOHS surgeon. She is originally from California and her father is a dermatologist. Dr. McGillis is internationally recognized, having spoken or taught in such places as Singapore, Indonesia, Israel, Brazil and Germany as well as throughout the United States. She has published many articles and written book chapters to help advance her specialty. She came to Lancaster in 2007 to bring her expertise to the area.

Veronica Merelo. M.D.

Dermatopathologist

Dr. Merelo earned a medical degree from the National University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City where she then completes a residency in dermatology and dermatopathology. After graduating she managed her own private practice in Mexico City. Following, Dr. Merelo traveled to Paris France where she worked for L’Oréal Research and Innovation as a medical expert in the International Department of Vigilance. When moving to the US, Dr. Merelo completed a residency in Anatomic Pathology followed by a Fellowship in Dermatopathology at Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center. During her training at Penn State, she was selected chief resident. She has published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Cutaneous Pathology and The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Merelo is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology.

Scott Ahrndt, PA-C

General Dermatology

Scott Ahrndt, MPA-C, is a board certified physician assistant specializing in dermatology. He completed his medical training at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine/United States Air Force program in 1992 and recognizing his passion for dermatology, completed his Masters Degree in dermatology in 1997. He has been a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistant (SDPA) since 1995 and a Diplomate in dermatology SDPA since 2014. He has a passion for general dermatology, skin cancer prevention and treatment as well as over 20 years experience in skin cancer surgery and has had the privilege of being trained in cutaneous surgery by fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons. He will be honored to meet you and your family for your skin care needs. He and wife DeAnna met in high school and have been married for 38 years. They enjoy running, the great outdoors, family time and discovering new restaurants.

Nicole Boyer, CRNP

General Dermatology

Nicole Boyer is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in dermatology. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Bloomsburg University in 2004. In 2012, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree, Family Nurse Practitioner tract, at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. For the past eight years, she has held the position of Lead Nurse Practitioner for the Department of Dermatology at Penn State Health in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She also served as the Director of the Advanced Practice Fellowship program in Dermatology, a one-year training program that focuses on didactic and clinical training for board-certified Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners. Nicole lives with her husband and two sons in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and skiing.

Marena Fares, PA-C

General Dermatology, Cosmetic injector

Marena Fares is a board certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology. She attended Philadelphia University’s Accelerated Physician Assistant Studies Program, where she received both her Bachelors and Master’s degrees, graduating magna cum laude in 2017. 

She completed her training in the Philadelphia/New Jersey area and has medical dermatology experience in York/Hanover working alongside an experienced dermatologist with over 45 years of experience. She is passionate about educating her patients and the community on the importance of proper sun protection and the need for routine skin cancer screenings. Marena takes pride in providing comprehensive exams and individualized treatments to her patients. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Kara Fitzpatrick, PA-C

General Dermatology, Cosmetic injector

Kara Fitzpatrick is a board-certified Physician Assistant that specializes in dermatology. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, her Master’s degree from Clarkson University, and is a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Kara grew up outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Through her education and clinical practice she has provided care across multiple demographics, ranging from rural small towns of the North Country to the bustling suburbs of Chicago. As part of her education, she traveled to South Africa and Nicaragua to study and provide care in local rural communities. She has a passion for educating and learning about diversity in dermatology, particularly in recognizing and treating dermatologic conditions across all skin types. Kara enjoys skiing, hiking, watching HGTV, and playing volleyball in her spare time. She and her fiancé are excited to plant roots near family and to be close enough to visit their alma mater (We are!).

Lena Metcalfe, PA-C

General Dermatology, Primary cosmetic injector

Lena Metcalfe is a board-certified physician assistant and skin specialist. She received her undergraduate degree from Philadelphia University Summa Cum Laude, and went on to earn her Master’s degree in 2014. She is a fellow diplomate member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has a passion for all things skin with a strong medical dermatology background and is highly skilled in the use of dermal fillers, Botox/Dysport, microneedling, and other skin treatments. Lena and her little family moved back to her hometown in Lancaster County after gaining five years of experience in Los Angeles, California. There she had the privilege of learning form the country’s top injectors and treating celebrities. When it comes to cosmetic dermatology, she believes in embracing your unique beauty and provides a tailored plan to achieve a very natural look.

Susan Suglia, CRNP

General Dermatology

Susan Suglia is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in dermatology. It was during her previous Dermatology work experience that inspired her to embark on a journey. She completed her Nursing Diploma program with an Associate Nursing Degree at Delaware Technical Community College in 2015. In 2016 she completed her Bachelor’s in Nursing Science through Wilmington University. After completing her BSN studies she left the world of Dermatology to build experience while working as a Registered Nurse for an inpatient Hemodialysis Unit. During which time she continued her schooling to earn a Masters in Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Wilmington University in 2021. She passed the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Board certification exam in February 2022. A native of Schuylkill Country, PA she has been living in Delaware with her family for the past 23 years. Her desire to return to the world of Dermatology to care for and educate patients on the importance of skin care, brought her to join us here at DPI in October 2022. She is excited to provide compassionate care for an array of Dermatological conditions from acne & warts to skin cancer screenings and minor procedures. She plans to relocate closer to the Lancaster area in the near future. In her free time she enjoys cooking, baking spending time with family and friends and travel. She is bilingual fluent in Spanish.

Corey Clark

Licensed Medical Esthetician

Corey Clark is a Medical Esthetician at the Laser and Skincare Center. He has over ten years of experience and has come from the world of Plastic Surgery and has built a clientele from working in various med spas. Corey has been trained to operate over 20 devices that target the face and body and is always eager to help patients achieve their skincare goals. He specializes in laser hair removal, reduction of brown spots and veins, Microneedling and Radio Frequency. When Corey is not working with patients, he enjoys volunteering and performing at various community theaters and loves supporting the arts. Leann Weaver

Licensed Medical Esthetician

Leann Weaver is a Licensed Esthetician at the Laser and Skincare Center. Leann Graduated from Millersville University in 2011 with a degree in communications. She then attended the Lancaster School of Cosmetology and graduated in 2012. She has worked in both the medical dermatology and therapeutic spa setting and has been a medical esthetician for over 12 years. She is passionate about helping others reach their skincare goals. She specializes in laser devices including IPL, Fractional, Laser Hair Reduction and Sculpture. Her favorite treatment to perform is Microneedling, but she also has a love for facials. Leann Has spent most of her life here in Lancaster, but is originally from Pittsburgh. When she is not helping patients with their skincare concerns, she is busy being a wife and mother to her son, daughter and her one year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She loves spending time with her friends and family, being outdoors, and being involved in her church. Leann is looking forward to meeting you in the near future!

Agnes Wilson

BSN, Nurse Injector

Agnes is a registered nurse with experience in both clinical and cosmetic dermatology. She graduated from Widener University’s accelerated BSN program in 2020. Upon graduating she relocated to Lancaster county from New Jersey. She worked on a medical unit at a local community hospital where she gained knowledge of caring for patients with a wide range of health conditions. Following this experience she joined our nursing team here at DPI. She finds her passion in helping guests achieve their skin care goals through personalized treatment plans and education. In her free time Agnes can be found spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring new hobbies.
